We feature only artisans, design labels, and social enterprises that work to ethical production principles: as a minimum, their materials are fairly traded and employees are fairly paid. Our margins are kept low so that you can get the best price from them.

We have suppliers in African countries, all of the ethical and all rooted in and inspired by Africa. We mainly design and produce our products across Africa, from small companies and individual craftsmen alike, all of who adhere to the same Kipfashion high standards and ethos.

No we don’t offer rush shipment. But some items have an option for rush shipping. This information will be included in the listing. Shipping information can be found in the tab marked “shipping” below each item on the left.
Unfortunately, we do not have any physical stores and are based strictly online at this time. But we have distributors in various countries and cities. Occasionally, we do pop-up shows in some countries and cities as well. More information on the shows can be accessed on our event page. Our headquarters is based in Lahti, Finland, Manchester UK, and New York USA. We do have vendors from all over the world Benin, Nigeria, USA, South Africa, Netherlands, UK, Kenya, Tanzania, Ghana, etc
Our default sizing is American sizing. We source our products from several producers around Africa – so they vary slightly. We, therefore, provide as much information as possible about the sizes of our products so that you won’t be disappointed when you receive them in the mail (we really don’t like a disappointed customer). So please make sure you compare the measurements before you confirm your order with us!
Where we think the size is looser or more snug than usual, we’ll let you know, so you can make the decision to try the next size up or down.

You can browse our products freely without registration. Products can be ordered without registering with Kipfashion however when you do, processing your next order will be more straightforward. In the case where a product is out of stock, we will re-stock it as soon as possible. All available products are on the Kipfashion web store and continuously updated. Many of the products are however unique and we keep minimal stocks of a particular item.
With those products that are custom made only after the order has been confirmed, the final delivery time will vary but is in each case clearly stated when making the order.

We recommend that you wash the fabrics prior to using them. We do not recommend washing the fabrics in over 40 Celsius. Please familiarize yourself with the washing instructions in detail. Please read the detailed description of the product for more detail.
We try to make sure everything we sell will make you happy, but if you do ever need to send anything back to us, you can find return instructions on the return note that will be put in your package, or check out our Return Policy. When you return something, it is important that you save your return tracking number, as this proves that you sent it back to us if it gets lost in transit.

If you have received an incorrect item, we sincerely apologize. Please return the items to us within 30 days of receiving your package. Should you contact customer service please let us know the following details: your order number, product code/product name, and details of the faulty item(s).
It takes around 15 working days for us to receive and process your return.
If you think you have been refunded the wrong amount please contact the Customer Service team stating your order number and the required refund amount. Please note: Delivery charges are non-refundable so you will be refunded the full value of the items returned less the delivery charges.
Refunds will be processed within 5 days after we receive your items in the warehouse. Please note that it may take 5-10 working days for the refund to appear in your bank statement and this is dependent on the card issuers and are out of our control. We will credit your refund to the same card you used when you placed your order. If we can’t do this (i.e. if the card has been declined, canceled, or has expired), please contact Customer Service and we will refund your money through a bank transfer.
When you place your order your card or PayPal will be authorized, and you will receive an email confirming that your order has been successful. Payment will be taken first when we dispatched your order and send it from our warehouse. If your card is not authorized, payment will not be taken, and you will get notified immediately on the screen that the payment was unsuccessful. Please remember that even if a payment is not authorized, some card issuers may still reserve the money, meaning you will not be able to access that amount of money for a short while.

Yes! Many of our garments can be made in sizes 16+. You can access some of them HERE Some garments are made to order. If you see something on the site that you like, you may be able to provide your specific measurements for it to be made to your size.
We do not have a specific category for Maternity wear but you may provide your measurements for some items to be made in your size. Please note that not all items can be altered. If you find something you like, let us know the name of the item and your measurements and we can connect you with the designer.
WHOLESALE INFORMATION
Ordering online is simple and fast. As you’re browsing through the products, when you see something you like, simply click on the button ‘Add to Cart. This will open the page for the product so you can select the color, fabric, size, or quantity of an item that you want.
Once you have added all the items you’d like to buy click the shopping cart button. Click the ‘Checkout’ button you will be redirected to the login page. If you have an account with Kipfashion, then you can go ahead and log in.
If you don’t have an account, you can click on the link that says ‘My Account’ then the button that says ‘Sign up. Having an account with Kipfashion allows you to save your shipping and billing information online so that we can send you up-to-date catalogs and send your orders to your correct address.
After you have logged in you will be redirected to your shopping cart. Click the ” Checkout” button. You will be taken to a page where you will confirm your order, the shipping address, and your shipping options. Click “Continue with Payment” to enter your credit card or PayPal information. Click the “Review and Confirm” button. After you have confirmed the information, press submits and your order will be placed with Kipfashionand you will receive an e-mail confirmation
- We are able to process credit cards from banks outside of the EU. We can accept bank transfers or any monies sent to us as long as they are in U.S. dollars or euros. We accept Paypal which is usually the most simple payment method for international orders.
- Unless you choose the shipping company, we will ship the least expensive way. We will tell you the total cost of your order including shipping, but we will not know the exact cost until after your order is packed.
- We are unable to help you with customs. If there are any extra charges by the country to which the package is being shipped, these costs are extra and are not included in your payment to us. You may have additional costs for customs and for clearing that are not included in your bill from us which you are responsible for. We are also not responsible for any customs delays in receiving your order, this is beyond our control and will not be accepted as a reason for the refusal of the goods sent.

African Clothing changes from one season to the next. Because of this clothing is the most likely type of product to go out of stock. Also, when the fabric stock runs out, we place the products of stock, but customers can backorder for custom print with the same style.
When we look for African-Inspired dresses we always try to get as much as possible so that you can always have what you want when you want it. However, some items are very rare or limited in quantity, so we can only offer a smaller number for each selection. Some garments are only available for a one-time purchase from our production team, so once the garment sells out it is no longer available for us to re-sell. We try to purchase dresses that we can re-stock, but at the same time, we want to give you the biggest variety of choices possible. Because of this, you may find an occasional product that we can not restock.
Get a head start! One of our goals is to give you what you need, without the worry of something selling out. Because of this, you can see the stock quantities on any item you want to purchase online. You can also email us so that you can know best what will work for you or your company. For products that come in different prints, colors, and sizes, you can click again to see the different options along with the quantities in stock for each.
Most of what we sell is made in Africa, but some other products are made in other countries. The country of origin is shown in the product description for everything we have to offer. So you can always find out where something is made. We make some products like bags and shoes from Europe or Asia due to quality and volume processing.
There are several reasons why we offer some products made in other places. The main reason is that our customers want many of these items. A significant goal of our business is to help our customers have what they want.
Another reason is that offering some of these products made in other parts of the world helps our wholesale customers get new customers for their business. Even though some things are made in different parts of the world, they can often still communicate the culture and heritage of Africa. Sometimes they are priced lower so that more people can own what is offered and help our wholesale customers to be able to reach a broader audience.
If you wonder how we can sell products from other countries and still have a mission of supporting communities in Africa. The reason this works is simple. It is because selling these products causes us to sell more African-made products that many customers may not notice otherwise. As long as giving customers more options increases sales of African-made products, we believe that we are meeting our company goals. More African communities will be supported through the sales of the things that they make.
Because not everything offered by Kipfashion is made in Africa, we also support many people and charitable activities with the profits that come from these other products.
We also have very low price mark-ups on some African-made products. There are a number of African-made products that would lose money if we did not offer non-African-made products as well. By offering larger selections, you can order some African-made products that would not be available otherwise. By selling more African-made goods, there are more communities in Africa that are able to grow in their industry; and more craftspeople in Africa can support themselves while carrying on African traditions. Each time you purchase an African-made product, someone in Africa is supported in their work. We appreciate your business no matter what you order, but we hope that you will consider African-made products in a special way, because of the good that results when you purchase from them.
The length of time the product comes back into stock varies and depends on the product. There are some items that do not come back into stock. This is most common for clothing with changing fashion from one season to the next. For most items that are scheduled to come back in stock, you can be notified automatically when they come back in stock. For this, search for the item by item.
Wholesale prices are the lower prices that are charged to stores or other businesses that are re-selling these products. Retail prices are the higher prices that a customer pays when they buy something for themselves. For almost all of the products that you see at Kipfashion.com, the wholesale prices are one-half of the retail prices.
When someone visits Kipfashion.com they will not see wholesale prices by default. However, only wholesale customers can purchase at that price with wholesale account approval. If you are a wholesale buyer, we can set your account to wholesale status.

Yes. First-time orders need to include an African fashion clothing startup bundle or be for at least $850 of merchandise. The minimum size of a wholesale order with Kipfashion is $850 for all orders at your first purchase.
There are a few quick and easy ways to jump-start your African fashion business. To pay wholesale prices, you need to be buying these products for resale. You do not need to own a store. You can work from your home or be selling these products part-time. There is a $850 minimum order required for first-time wholesale orders (or you can purchase a startup bundle). You can order smaller quantities as long as you are above the minimum order.

Every so often, someone calls to say that they think their shipping costs are too high. Sometimes people think that Kipfashion intentionally overcharged their shipping costs.
Because most of the products that we sell are shipped from Africa, our shipping costs are a lot higher than some other companies. It is much more expensive to ship from Africa than to ship to the USA. But we do not want to lose customers by charging too high shipping costs.
Our goal is to charge exactly the same amount that shipping companies charges for shipping your package. Our computer can not always get the exact amount correctly, however. In fact, we normally charge customers less than the shipping company does charge us for shipping costs.
Normally, we lose money on shipping costs. Shipping is actually one of our biggest expenses. There are still some orders that are charged too much though.
To make even more sure that we don’t make a customer mad at us by charging them too much for shipping, we now compare all of the shipping options to the customer. When we find someone is charged too much, we make refunds for any large overcharges.
