Who are you?

We’re a Finland based online retailer and wholesaler of contemporary African fashion inspired by African and Western designs. We feature only artisans, design labels and social enterprises that work to ethical production principles: as a minimum, their materials are fairly traded and employees are fairly paid. Our margins are kept low so that you can get the best price from them.

Where do you delver ?

We ship orders to most countries for our retail and wholesale. Please see our Terms and Conditions and Delivery Policy for more information, and if in doubt, please contact us [email protected]

Where do your product comes from?

We have suppliers in African countries, all of them ethical and all rooted in and inspired by Africa.  We mainly design and produce our products across Africa, from small companies and individual craftsmen alike, all of who adhere to the same Kipfashion high standards and ethos.

Can I purchase your products in wholesale?

Yes. Some of our vendors do offer wholesale purchases, but only if you are purchasing in large quantities. Visit www.kipfashion.com or www.maisondekodjo.com and  let us know which items you would like to purchase wholesale. We can also source for you any product that is not in our store.

Do you offer rush shipping?

No. we don’t offer rush shipment. But some items have an option for rush shipping. This information will be included on the listing.  Shipping information can be found in the tab marked “shipping” below each item on the left.

How can I sell as a vendor on Kipfashion?

Yes!  You can submit an application to join our group of vendors HERE. Take a look at our VENDOR TERMS and our VENDOR GUILDLINES . If you meet the aforementioned qualifications, someone from our team will contact you within 4-8 business days.

Do you have any physical stores?

Unfortunately, we do not have any physical stores and are based strictly online at this time. But we have distributors in various countries and cities. Occasionally, we do pop up shows in some countries and cities as well. More information on the shows can be accessed on our event page. Our headquarters is based in Lahti, Finland, Manchester UK and New York USA. We do have vendors from all over the world Benin, Nigeria, USA, South Africa, Netherlands, UK, Kenya, Tanzania, Ghana etc

How do I know what size will fit me?

Our default sizing is American sizing. We source our products from several producers around Africa – so they vary slightly. We therefore provide as much information as possible about the sizes of our products so that you won’t be disappointed when you receive it in the mail (we really don’t like a disappointed customer). So please make sure you compare the measurements before you confirm your order with us!

Where we think the size is looser or more snug than usual, we’ll let you know, so you can make the decision to try the next size up or down.

What is I'm not happy with my purchase

Please contact us as soon as possible. You can arrange to return the garment, unworn and in the original state you received it in. Please read our full Returns Policy. In the first instance, please contact us [email protected] so that we can arrange a return.

Can I order products without registering with Kipfashion

You can browse our products freely without registration. Products can be ordered without registering with Kipfashion however when you do, processing your next order will be more straightforward. You can also order from us by emailing us. You can also design and customize your on design and choice the fabrics you want. More information can be found in the Terms & Conditions.

What is a products is out of stock?

In the case where a product is out of stock, we will re-stock as soon as possible. All available products are on the Kipfashion web store, and continuously updated. Many of the products are however unique and we keep minimal stocks of a particular item.

How quickly will I receive a custom made products ?

With those products that are custom made only after the order has been confirmed, the final delivery time will vary but is in each case clearly stated when making the order.

How can I check the status of my order?

I just placed an order and realized that my address is wrong

Email us [email protected] your name, order number and the correct address. We will update your order information. You may also leave a message by clicking on the tab “Leave a Message” near the bottom of the page on the website. Or you may chat with one of our Customer Service Representatives live between the hours of 10am – 5pm EST Monday – Friday by clicking on the tab “Ask a Question”. I would like to have a products that I cannot find from Kipfashion website.

Please email us and share your thoughts on this. We will find out if it is possible to make your wishes to come through. Kipfashion is always welcoming new product ideas. Or you can customize some products to your taste.

How should I wash the fabrics purchased ?

We recommend that you wash the fabrics prior using them. We do not recommend washing the fabrics in over 40 Celsius. Please familiarize yourself with the washing instructions in detail. Please read the details description of the product for more detail.

I have received a faulty item

We try to make sure everything we sell will makes you happy, but if you do ever need to send anything back to us, you can find return instructions on the return note that will be put in your package, or check out our Return Policy. When you return something, it is important that you save your return tracking number, as this proves that you sent it back to us if it gets lost in transit.

I have received an incorrect item

If you have received an incorrect item, we sincerely apologize. Please return the items to us within 30 days of receiving your package. Should you contact customer service please let us know the following details: your order number, product code/product name and details of the faulty item(s).

Have you received my return ?

It takes around 15 working days for us to receive and process your return.

Need a different size / colour ?

In order to service you most efficiently, we no longer offer merchandise exchanges in the traditional sense.  With our free delivery*, you will get the right size or color fastest if you simply place a second order.  Once we receive your return, we will credit your account.

You have refunded me the wrong amount

If you think you have been refunded the wrong amount please contact the Customer Service team stating your order number and the required refund amount.

Please note: Delivery charges are non-refundable so you will be refunded the full value of the items returned less the delivery charges.

When will I receive my refund

Refunds will be processed within 5 days after we receive your items in the warehouse.  Please note that it may take 5-10 working days for the refund to appear in your bank statement and this is dependent on the card issuers and are out of our control. We will credit your refund to the same card you used when you placed your order. If we can’t do this (i.e. if the card has been declined, cancelled or has expired), please contact Customer Service and we will refund your money through a bank transfer.

When will I be charged?

When you place your order your card or PayPal will be authorized, and you will receive an email confirming that your order has been successful. Payment will be taken first when we dispatched your order and send it from our warehouse. If your card is not authorized, payment will not be taken, and you will get notified immediately on the screen that the payment was unsuccessful. Please remember that even if a payment is not authorized, some card issuers may still reserve the money, meaning you will not be able to access that amount of money for a short while.

Is it safe to order online ?

To help ensure that your shopping experience is safe, simple and secure kipfashion.com uses industry standard Secure Socket Layers technology (SSL). If you look at the location (URL) field at the top of the browser during checkout, you will see it begin with ‘https://’ instead of the normal ‘http://’. This also indicates that you in secure mode. To ensure your information is kept private, we do not store any payment information in our database.

This technology includes the following features

  • Authentication – this assures your browser that your data is being sent to the correct computer server, and that the server is secure
  • Encryption – this encodes the data, so that it cannot be read by anyone other than the secure server.
  • Data Integrity – this checks the data being transferred to ensure it has not been altered.

Kipfashion reserves the right to delay any order if we suspect further security control is needed.

Can I modify my order after It has been placed

No. Due to our efforts to ensure that you receive your order as quickly and accurately as possible, we are unable to cancel or make changes after you have placed it with us

Can I cancel my order

No. We will process your order once we receive it for fast delivery. If you no longer wish to have the items, you will have to return them upon receiving your order

Has my order been shipped?

As soon as your order is dispatched from our warehouse, we’ll email you to confirm that it’s on its way to you

Can I track my order

Depending on the carrier we send your order with, the dispatch email you receive will include a unique tracking number which you can use to track the progress of your parcel

A mistake has been made with my order

If an item is missing from your order, we sincerely apologize and please get in touch with Customer Service.

Note: If you receive a damaged parcel with missing item(s) we need photographic evidence of this. Please send a photo to us at customer service so we can investigate this further.

Please note that sometimes a parcel is not traceable. Should this be the case with your parcel, we kindly ask that you contact our customer service directly, so we can assist you. The processing time for us and the distributor may take 15 days. We always strive to work as quickly as possible, and ask for your understanding and patience

What are Kipfashion promotion codes?

Promotion codes are codes that can be used to obtain discounts. Discount codes are from time to time used as promotions. Make sure you receive the information about future promotions by signing up to our customer club.

I forgot to use my promotion code

Unfortunately, discount codes cannot be applied retrospectively. If you did not enter your discount code at the checkout, we can’t apply it to that order or amend your payment later on.

How do promotion code affects my right to return an order?

If a promotion code was applied to your original order, your refund amount will be adjusted to reflect this. Unfortunately, we cannot re-issue a promotion code, even if your original order is returned to us

Can I receive a catalog with your designs?

Yes, we can provide that for you on request. You can also view our wide range of products online.

Do you offer custom design/order by a vendor?

Yes, we do offer custom services on retail and wholesale.

Do you carry plus sizes?

Yes! Many of our garments can be made in sizes 16+. You can access some of them HERE Some garments are made to order. If you see something on the site that you like, you may be able to provide your specific measurements for it to be made to your size.

Do you sell Maternity Clothes?

We do not have a specific category for Maternity wear but you may provide your measurements for some items to be made in your size. Please note that not all items can be altered. If you find something you like, let us know the name of the item and your measurements and we can connect you with the designer.
